FAQs

What should I expect in counseling?

Counseling is a time for you. You can come in with something to talk about that’s been on your mind, or you and your therapist can work on goals that you have established for the therapeutic process. Each session lasts about 50 minutes long and is confidential (with some safety exceptions). We want this to be a time to express, release, and heal how YOU want to.

How will I get paired with a counselor?

That’s a great question! Pairing you with a counselor relies on several factors. We often ask if you have insurance or are planning to pay privately. This will narrow down the list of counselors who may take your insurance or are in your financial budget to pay out of pocket each session. Second, you can have a counselor preference! We encourage you to look our “meet the team” page and see if you feel like there may be a therapist you can connect with most!

Do you take insurance? Which ones?

Yes! We take the following insurances:

  • United Healthcare

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield

  • Aetna

  • Cigna

Each counselor works with their own insurance billing procedures. To view your co-pay, please wait for your counselor to reach out to you so they can process your insurance information. You can also call your insurance company and ask about your co-pay for behavioral health services. Please know that if we do not take your insurance we can provide a receipt of services that you can submit for insurance reimbursement. We do not plan to take any additional insurances at this time.

What do I do if I have Medicaid?

We DO NOT take Medicaid, however we do offer services for a reduced fee. Our graduate counseling interns see clients for up to $30. You can visit out internship page to look at our intern’s bios and learn more about our low cost services. If you do not find what you are looking for, we have several community referrals for you below so you are not without support.
